It was January 2022, in the middle of lockdown, when Brianna and Kyle matched on Hinge. It started with a deep discussion about pizza toppings (how green peppers are far more offensive than pineapple), and from there, they decided to meet in person.

Their first date was a memorable outdoor dining experience in the dead of winter. Kyle, as usual, was underdressed. This is a pattern that has continued throughout their relationship, given his strong dislike of wearing jackets.

Brianna quickly fell for Kyle; he came across as genuine, kind, and thoughtful. They discovered many shared interests: a love of travel, trying new foods, and going on adventures.

As some of you may know, Brianna awkwardly invited herself to a Hot Pot evening with Kyle’s friends. This worked in her favour, as Kyle briefly considered ending things shortly after. After meeting, his friends were very fond of her, which led him to reconsider. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves and just see what happens.” Brianna famously said.

What ended up happening next was an impulsive weekend trip to New York City, just six weeks after they met, so Kyle could show her his favourite city.

Fast forward almost five years, and it’s safe to say Brianna was right.

Since then, they have travelled together all over the world - from the Netherlands, to working remotely in Mexico, and have recently planned their honeymoon in Japan.

Together, they share a love of trying new restaurants, yoga, hiking, and stand-up comedy.

Kyle has introduced Brianna to a love of spicy food, and Brianna has taught Kyle how to keep life a little more silly.

They look forward to this next adventure together- marriage!
